What colour is this dress?!!

A question I posed to several people and had good hearty discussions over. Some ending in.. YOU ARE WRONG WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS. I'm one of those that started off seeing it as white and gold and then half way through the day the colour changed! So I now annoyingly see both options. A feat I can only put down to pure withcraft or more synically a very slow changing gif designed to ruin the world.

This is definitely old news, but I love it! And this is really for two main reasons.

1) The science behind it is absolutely baffling! I'm a bit of a geek at heart, so love stuff like this. It's amazing just how much we take for granted about the human body and the way we live our lives. Having something as simple as a badly taken photo make people LEARN about science is brilliant. Much in the same manner that the only reason I know that bananas are a great source of potassium is because I learnt it from Honey I Shrunk The Kids.

2) It is the simplest question that you can ask. Regardless of who/what/where you come from, what you do, how old you are, what you look like.. You will be able to answer this question! And it's an easy in, the way social media works these days this picture was everywhere! Seeing it on the phone of the person next to you on the train, you could easily ask them that question, using it as an alternative greeting when starting a new job, asking your mum, texting it to all your close friends in a group message. It's easy to ask people this question. And that's what I really love about it. It starts conversations.

A really important side of what we do is exactly that. We want to give people the opportunity to start conversations with each other with no pressure or expectations. So if the question is no longer what colour is this dress? We're asking you...
