The day we met Norman Roach

A couple of Saturday's ago as Nick and I were busy painting the town red (and by town I mean our shop), we were approached by a lovely gentleman called Norman.

The market is a really friendly place, all you need is a smile and people will happily start chatting away with you. But Norman wasn't just anyone..

"I've been told you're the ones I should speak to," he tells us with a grin on his face.

"Oh really, why's that?"

"It's because I've lived in Wood Street my whole life.. I was born at 246 Wood Street, right opposite the film studio. I can tell you anything you want to know about it, I even went to this cinema."

And that was all we needed, he'd got us hook, line and sinker. Norman Roach, 88 years old and an absolute fountain of local knowledge and memories. So the following Saturday we got our Rare Moustache film makers in to turn our very own Mr. Norman Roach into an E17 star! (Just like his mother once was).

Because this is what our project and company are all about. Meeting the amazing people that make up each community and drawing them together. Norman was also the main electrician for the Walthamstow Dog Tracks and he knows everything about the stadium. If only we had met him two years ago when we were performing A Night at the Dogs!
